Hello!

I’m Maya, an AmeriCorps alumni & User Experience Designer living in Tucson, Arizona.

My journey to UX started in non-profit and community service work, where I’ve spent the past five years learning from incredible people working to make the world a better place. I bring that inspiration and drive to my UX work, advocating for thoughtful, user focused designs.

I'm deeply committed to ensuring inclusive, accessible and informed methodologies are used throughout the lifecycle of projects, products and services, incorporating synthesis methods with stop gaps in place for teams (and myself) to check in on bias, accuracy and impact, helping organizations align their research and goals.

I’m trained in User Research and User Interface Design, allowing me to collaborate with teams from concept to production stages by providing user research, usability testing, interactive prototypes and high fidelity final designs.

My prior work includes user experience testing, information architecture overhauls, mobile & desktop user interface designs and more in environments ranging from augmented reality educational technology products to policy, systems and environmental change community coalitions.

Please don’t hesitate to reach out to discuss an upcoming project, ask a question or nerd out with me about UX!

I’m always excited to connect, explore the field and expand my UX toolkit.

I will be open for full time and contract work starting in April of 2024.

I hope to see you then!
